Uttanasana Standing Forward Fold

This asana is another shape that is relatively new to yoga. This is one of my personal favorites. I feel myself returning to homeostasis. When I open my eyes, I really try to notice the world upside down.

1. Start in Tadasana. Take a few deep breaths, notice where the air is going. On the next exhale, hinge at the hips, Lead with your heart as you fold, bringing your chest to your lap. Bending the knees as much as you need too. Keep your knees bent as much as you need, to avoid a rounding back.

2. Lengthen the crown of the head to the ground. Try to look in towards your bellybutton. It is more important to keep the chest tight to the lap then to have straight legs. Straight legs develop over time. Breathe Deep. Ground through your feet lifting up through the back of your legs, send your tailbone to the sky as much as you can.
